Assembly _ _ _ _ is based on movements of people working. Movements are collected and strung together in a phrase, and in their new context, become a tribute to the diversity and unexpected beauty of a day’s labor.
In Assembly _ _ _ _, work and the related motions required of bodies to complete a specialized set of tasks become a performance in which the choreography is seen as a consequence of the tasks at hand.
This iteration was based on research collected from observing Wellfleet shell fishermen Mike Parlante and Keith Rose at work over the period of a week.
